ABOUT US.
The Arts Cabin Project was created as the arts programming department of The Mount Hood Cultural Center and Museum In order to offer quality arts & crafts programming it was neccessary to locate off site buildings where studios could be developed for specific art and crafts. MHCCM worked in partnership with the United States Forest Service, Mount Hood National Forest to obtain special use permits on two former USFS residences within the Village of Government Camp, Oregon. The setting is peaceful and scenic, lending to the atmosphere for creativity and reflection.
The Arts Cabins Project is an exciting new arts program for the Mount Hood area, as well as the entire Northwest, and nation as it offers a comfortable atmosphere for creativity on Mount Hood, without worries of changing weather. Studio space until now, did not exist on this level of Mount Hood.
The Arts Cabins may be used as private studio space when class scheduling allows. Any artist interested in using the spaces must be a professional artist/member of a recognized arts or literary organization, association or guild. Or, the artist must be a well known name in the arts, crafts or literary world. The cabins are not available to rent for lodging purposes. The Arts Cabins do have kitchens, bath, and bedroom for the visiting artist and spouse or one guest while working in the studio, or teaching a class or workshop. Contact us for further information regarding private studio use, or teaching.
