Beginning Fused Glass
On request, one week advanced notice required.  Minimum 2 students, Maximum 4 students.    One day class.  10AM till 2PM, or sooner.
$150, includes all materials and instruction.

Explanation of different kinds of glass, firing, kilns, fusing & slumping. Complete 2 small projects.  Some of the options are: bowl, small sconce lens, wind chimes or plate for stand. (stand extra).  Bring your lunch or 2 minute drive to Govt. Camp restaurants.  We will break at noon for one hour and complete the projects by 3PM or sooner.   Kiln work will be done by the Arts Cabin staff...need only be present for the lay up of the glass.  Projects will be delivered to the Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum for pick up the following week,10AM till 5PM, open daily, or for an additional fee the projects can be mailed to you when finished.  This is a class for the absolute beginner, to get you started in fused glass at a great price.
 
 
2 day, Beginning Glass Bead Making & Wire Jewelry Class!  By request, one week advanced notice.
Arts Cabin exclusive class.  Available starting April.  Mid week dates only till June.
Requires 1 week advance registration.  Minimum 2 students.  Maximum 4 students.
10AM till 3PM daily w/ 1 hour lunch
$275 per student.  Includes all materials, tools, and supplies and instruction. 
This is a unique opportunity to learn the art of making glass beads at the torch using Bullseye Glass, and finishing them as a piece of wearable art for all to see! 
 
Day One: Learn to create beautiful glass beads using a surface mix, Minor Burner torch and Bullsyeye glass. Included in class is safety, studio set up, and glass properties.
 
Day Two: Take your new beads out of the annealing kiln and remove from mandrels, learn to clean and prep.  Then upstairs to the Jewelry Table!  Don't just hide your first beads away in a drawer...wear them!  Create a unique piece of jewelry to wear proudly.  Findings and additional jewelry components supplied.  This class is an Arts Cabins exclusive.  No refunds after one week before schduled class date.  Excellant value for your arts / jewelry making dollar.  Usually only found as individual classes.

Begining Glass Bead making at the torch:
One week advance registration required.  2 student minimum. Available July & August classes, your date of choice w/ 2 week advance registration.
10Am till 4PM.  One day 'getting started' class! $150 per student.  Must pay full amount at registration. 
Learn to make glass beads using the Minor Burner, surface mix torch, and Bullseye Glass (soft glass COE 90).
Also included in your instruction: Safety, studio set up, types of glass.  In this one day class you will not get too far into decoration, although beginning techniques will be taught.  Beads will be sent to students as one day class does not allow students to leave w/ beads and allow annealing time in kiln. 2 day class recommended for aspiring bead makers.

2 day Beginning Glass Bead Making:
Beginning mid week days, April through summer.  1 week advance registration. 2 student minimum.  Repeats in October.
10AM till 3PM daily.  1 hour lunch.   $250 per student. Full amount due at registration
Same as one day beginner class, however students will explore further surface decorations on second day.  Beads from day one will be taken from kiln and removed from mandrels and cleaned to take home on second day.  Beads created on second day will be mailed to students.  All tools, saftey glasses, and materials supplied.  Arts Cabins is equipped w/ ventilation system in glass studio. 

All of the glass classes are great for small family groups, mother daughter outings, and birthday parties.  Minimum, one week advanced registration.  Must be 18 years or older unless accompanied by parent.
